"First Freedom" Dinner Show

Tuesday, September 29 · 6:00 pm
Saint George · Stage & Dance

The Right that Makes Every Freedom Possible Step into America’s Story: Virginia, just after the American Revolution: James Madison, Thomas Jefferson, Patrick Henry, and George Mason — allies in the fight for independence — find themselves on opposite sides of a harder question: should the new nation guarantee freedom of conscience for every citizen? First Freedom is an original musical that brings this clash to life, culminating in the passage of Jefferson’s Virginia Statute for Establishing Religious Freedom in 1786 — the first legislative act in recorded history to separate church from state and protect individual religious liberty. You know how the story ends. You’ve never felt how close it came to ending differently.
